Q02. Q01. In the quadratic function web page we will also learn following questions
Advanced questions
1. What is the 2nd difference of a quadratic functions ?
2. Intersections of quadratic functions with its inverse.
3. Intersections of quadratic functions with y = 1/x.
4. Intersections of quadratic functions with y = m*x + n.
5. Graph of y = a*x^2 + b*|x| + c.
6. Graph of y = |a*x^2 + b*x + c|.
7. Graph of y = |a*x^2 + b*|x| + c|.
8. Parabola
The principal axis of y = a*x^2 + b*x + c is x = -b/(2*a).
The vertex is at (h,k) for function y - k = (x - h)/(2*D).
The distance from focus to directrix is D and D = 1/(2*a).
The coordinates of focus is (h,k+D/2).
The equation of directrix is y = k - D/2.
9. Parabola in polar form
R = D/(1-sin(A)) : Open upward.
R = D/(1+sin(A)) : Open downward.
R = D/(1-cos(A)) : Open rightward.
R = D/(1+cos(A)) : Open leftward.
