    Q02. Bisect a line

    Construction
    • Draw line AB = 6 cm
    • Draw a circle at A with rdius = 4 cm
    • Draw a circle at B with rdius = 4 cm
    • Two circles meet at C and D
    • Join CD and CD cut AB at E
    • CD bisect AB
    Proof
    • CD is common chord of two circles
    • Hence CD perpendicular to AB
    • Hence triangle AEC is congruent to BEC
      • BC = AC
      • CE is in common
      • Angle AEC = angle BEC = 90
    • Hence AE = BE
